Good as New

It may be hard to tell in this picture but the floors are shining – they haven’t looked this good in 100 years. This week workers were busy cleaning and sealing the floors on the first floor. Not only did we realize the Mead is 110 years this year, but a guest pointed out that the star on our foyer floor looks off center because it is pointing true north. Next week we will be getting ready for our wonderful event on Sunday April 28 – which will be a Freewill Donation Admission day at the Mead Cultural Education Center. We will have a nationally-recognized expert on Thomas Jefferson – Clay Jenkinson from North Dakota. Tickets are available for the speaker – it is a free event but we do ask you reserve a spot for the speaker since seats are limited. We are also excited to announce that for this event only – Larry Ness will be exhibiting his authentic Jefferson Peace Medal. We will also be unveiling some other items donated by the Larry Ness Native American Collection. For more on upcoming events you can check out our calendar of events at You can stop out at the Mead Cultural Education Center at 82 Mickelson Drive, email us at Our winter hours are Monday-Friday 10am-4pm (closed Wednesdays) and Saturday & Sunday 1pm-5pm.
