Cornerstone of Preservation

In keeping with historic preservation, workers at the Mead Cultural Education Center recently replaced a corner piece on the second floor veranda. They did such an excellent job that you would never know it replaced a badly damaged piece. The Yankton County Historical Society is fortunate to have talented workers on staff. Work on the verandas is close to completion. Then it will be onto the next phase of the project. It is a great time to visit the Mead Cultural Education Center and see what is new! Mark your calendars for Friday, Sept. 6th and join us at noon for Feed Your Mind. Carol Ryan will be here to talk about “Medicine in the Time of Lewis and Clark.” Check us out at www.meadbuilding.org, or you can stop out at the Mead Cultural Education Center at 82 Mickelson Drive. Our summer hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm (closed Wednesdays) and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
