The recent cold weather has been slowing things down a little at the Mead Building. At the museum we are busy making plans for upcoming collections care training. Conservator Terri Schindel will be returning to Yankton to conduct training for our current volunteers and any new volunteers we have. Schindel’s visit and the recent purchase of three new computers are all part of the IMLS grant we received last fall. If you are interested in helping prepare the collection for moving, please contact the Dakota Territorial Museum. Hours are flexible. If you have questions about the project or events you can contact us at the Dakota Territorial Museum at 610 Summit Street (in Westside Park), on Facebook, or call us at 605-665-3898. The museum is open Noon-4pm seven days a week.
