Things are really changing at the Mead Cultural Education Center and we can’t wait for our opening in December. They are progressing nicely on the elevator. Pictured above is the crew putting in the footing for the elevator. We are now under 80 days from our big re-opening on December 15, 2018. Our Vintage Christmas at the Mead in the afternoon will be a family fun event for all ages. The week leading up to Dec. 15 we will be hosting a members-only preview of the new museum. Now is the perfect time to consider joining the Yankton County Historical Society. There are wonderful benefits to joining, including free admission to the museum for an entire year. We have a student membership rate, as well as individual, couple, family, and some upper levels. There is something for everyone.
