Work On 3rd

Despite hot days, the Mead Building crew was busy this week with demolition work on the third floor of the Mead Cultural Education Center. This floor is the future home of two conference rooms and the Yankton College Alumni & Education Center. Walls between rooms were removed to make for larger, more functional spaces such as conference rooms and exhibit galleries. The rooms were once the nurses’ quarters when the hospital was operational. These Conference Rooms will be available for rent by the public and can accommodate up to about 25 people each. Although demolition is being left to the trained professionals, there are still opportunities to get involved with the project both financially and hands-on. June 12, our 82nd anniversary is approaching quickly. The museum is registered at Menards and Ace Hardware if you would like to purchase some much needed equipment for opening the museum. For questions, please contact the Dakota Territorial Museum at 610 Summit Street (in Westside Park), on Facebook/Dakota Territorial Museum, visit us online at www.dakotaterritorialmuseum.org or www.meadbuilding.org, or call us at 605-665-3898.
