Headed North

If you were on Broadway last Thursday afternoon, you may have seen an unusual site. A major piece – a covered wagon - for our Childrens Museum was headed to the Mead Building. For the past several months, inmates from the Yankton Federal Prison have been working hard to repair and refurbish the wagon. It was a labor of joy and a sense accomplishment for the guys. We are so pleased with the work done to it and excited to have this as a part of the new museum. If you would like to help at either location, give us a call and we will put you in touch with the right person. Don’t forget that during the month of April, the Mead Matters Campaign will be doing Meals for Mead at local restaurants. Check out our Facebook page (Dakota Territorial Museum) for more information – the next event is April 23rd at Pizza Ranch. To make a contribution or for more information on Meals for Mead, please contact the Dakota Territorial Museum at 610 Summit Street (in Westside Park), on Facebook/Dakota Territorial Museum, visit us online at www.dakotaterritorialmuseum.org or www.meadbuilding.org, or call us at 605-665-3898.
