Parlor Plaster

It’s time for even more work on plaster restoration at the Mead building. When restoration began the ornate moldings in the parlors were some of the most damaged sections of the building. Recent work adding insulation to exterior walls allows the moldings to be finished. Sections are being recreated or restored by the team at the building. There are many slightly different moldings, so patterns must be created for each area. The lower parlor moldings are being worked on during this warm weather and will be installed soon. Back at the Museum, we are busy getting ready for Meadopoly. This fun-filled event will be held February 25. It’s a great chance for an evening out in support of the Mead restoration! For more information or for tickets, visit our websites or stop in and see us. If you have questions about the project or events please contact us at the Dakota Territorial Museum at 610 Summit Street (in Westside Park), on Facebook, visit our website at www.dakotaterritorialmuseum.org or www.meadbuilding.org, or call us at 605-665-3898. We are open seven days a week from noon-4pm.
