May is National Preservation Month. In honor of this, the National Trust for Historic Preservation is reminding everyone to remember that our historic places matter. The Mead Building is visible proof of this. We invite you to learn about the preservation efforts happening right here in Yankton by visiting the Mead Building during our Open House event this weekend. We will have the chance for you to add to the story of Preservation Month by reminding people that This Place Matters with a photo contest at the Mead Building. We will be at the Mead Building from 1-4:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday, May 9 & 10, 2015. If you have questions about the project or events please contact us at the Dakota Territorial Museum at 610 Summit Street (in Westside Park), on Facebook, visit our website at www.meadbuilding.org, or call us at 605-665-3898. The museum is open 10 am-5 pm Monday-Friday and noon-4 pm weekends.
