Can I access historic Yankton State Hospital patient records at the Mead Museum?
No. The Mead Museum does not have access to historic patient or medical records for the Yankton State Hospital or the Dakota Hospital for the Insane.
How can I find patient or cemetery records for family genealogy?
For family genealogy records, researchers must directly contact the South Dakota Human Services Center Medical Records department by phone at 605-668-3100 or via email at angie.logue@state.sd.us.
Who should I contact at the Mead Museum regarding object donations or research questions?
For specific questions regarding archival research or donating historical artifacts to the collection, contact the collections department via email at research@meadbuilding.org.
